Hi, my name is Ben. I'm a student, traveler, and technologist. I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in computer science at the University of Cambridge as a Gates Scholar.
In the last couple years, I graduated from Cornell University with a degree in information science, and spent a year traveling the world for Google as a technology pioneer.
In 2010, I graduated from Cornell with a BS in information science, summa cum laude. One year later, I'm a master's student in the CS department at the University of Cambridge.
A few of my favorite classes have been
At Cornell, I did research with Interaction Design Lab and the Web Lab, exploring human-computer interaction and the structure of information networks, respectively.
Also, for the three summers in between and into my final year, I did industrial research for Google and Facebook, completing a mix of data-centered research and qualitative usability work.
Aside from all the work, I enjoy going on adventures, exploring new places, and meeting interesting people. My hobbies include biking, running, and rock climbing.
I also enjoy writing, mostly about my own experiences. Since moving to Africa, I've been keeping a chronicle of my adventures and blogging about technology for the Huffington Post.
