Hi, my name is Ben. I'm an explorer, technologist, and adventurer. These days, I spend my time building new technology for Google.org. Google.org creates technology aimed at addressing global challenges.
Previously, I worked on Google's emerging markets team as a Technology Pioneer, traveling the world and launching new products.

At Cambridge, I worked with the Digital Technology Group to build a prototype mobile application aimed at helping first responders conduct more targeted searches for disaster victims.
At Cornell, I worked with the Web Lab and the Interaction Design Lab. I also did research for Google and Facebook, completing a mix of data-centered research and qualitative usability work.
Aside from all the work, I enjoy going on adventures, exploring new places, and meeting interesting people. My hobbies include biking, running, and rock climbing.
I also enjoy writing, mostly about my own experiences. Since I moved to Africa, I've been keeping a chronicle of my adventures and blogging about technology for the Huffington Post.
